Skelton Taintor & Abbott, a law firm in Auburn, said attorney Stephen Wade was included on the 2020 New England Super Lawyers list in the area of personal injury general, plain- tiff. Attorneys Braden Clement, Amy Dieterich and Jordan Payne Hay were named "Rising Stars." Berman & Simmons in Lewiston was recognized as a "Highly Recommended" law firm by Benchmark Litigation. In addition, attorneys Benjamin Gideon, James O'Connell and Steven Silin were named "Local Litigation Stars," Jodi Nofsinger was identified as a "Future Star" and Susan Faunce was selected as a "Distinguished Lawyer." Brown, Holmes & Milliken Agency, an Ellsworth insurance agency, said Melanie Wyman completed and passed all required courses and exams to become a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter. Preti Flaherty, a law firm in Portland, said six of its Maine- based attorneys were included on the 2020 New England Super Lawyers list, while 10 others were named "Rising Stars." e National Association of State Boards of Education announced that Maine State Board of Education Chairman Wilson Hess was one of three national recipients of its "2020 Distinguished Service Award." Amanda Peterson, business leader- ship instructor at United Technologies Center in Bangor, was named the "2020 Maine Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year" by the Maine Administrators of Career and Technical Education. Coastal Mountains Land Trust in Camden honored Steve McAllister with its "Lifetime Achievement Award." He has served as board president, stewardship volun- teer, committee member, advisor and chair for the Ducktrap River Watershed campaign. AARP Maine in Portland said that Star Pelsue was the winner of the "2020 Andrus Award." She vol- unteers for Ronald McDonald House, AARP Maine, Wayside Food Programs, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and Victoria Mansion. U.S. Sen.
