O
riginally founded in 1979,
National Fiber Technology,
located in Lawrence, MA, was
given a makeover in 2001 under the
new ownership of Kim Clark and Fred
Fehrmann. The two bring more than
50 years combined experience in
the art of textile design, costuming,
set design and theme park styling,
an expertise that has helped the
company to become well established
in its field.
After blowing the dust off the old
fur-making machines 20+ years ago,
NFT is now a recognized power-
house in the manufacture of custom-
made specialized performance fur
fabrics, hair and wigs used by the
entertainment market for movies,
television, theme parks, theater
and special effects. Their products
can be seen on the backs of the
Grinch, King Kong, Chewbacca, The
Cat in the Hat, and the monsters
in Where The Wild Things Are.
NFT's specialized performance fur
fabric can also be seen in Disney
Parks, Universal Studios parks and
Schlitterbahn Water Parks worldwide
to name just a few. NFT is also the
go-to resource for taxidermists,
costumers, museums, mascot
creators and puppeteers.
