Boles is director at Hancock County Technical Center, Cato is senior vice president and chief information offi- cer at Bowdoin College and Halliday is superintendent of RSU #29. Skelton Taintor & Abbott, a law firm in Auburn, said that attor- ney Jordan Payne Hay has joined the board of the Maine Women's Network – Androscoggin Chapter. ConnectMaine Authority in Augusta appointed Nick Battista, senior policy officer at Island Institute, as board chair. In addition, Susan Corbett, direc- tor of the National Digital Equity Center, was reappointed to the board and Jasmine Bishop, director of telehealth with MaineHealth, was appointed to the board by Gov. Janet Mills. Ted Wright was elected to serve a three-year term on the Forest Stewardship Council U.S. Board of Directors. Wright is executive director of both the Trust to Conserve Northeast Forestlands in Augusta and the Northeast Master Logger Certification Program, which the trust oversees. Clark Insurance in Portland elected Scott Twitchell to its board of directors. Twitchell is executive vice president of sales for the agency. Maine Municipal Association in Augusta elected James Gardner Jr., town manager in Easton, as president and James Bennett, city manager in Biddeford, as vice president of its executive com- mittee. In addition, Robert Butler, chair of select board in the town of Waldoboro; Terry Helms, selectper- son in the town of Grand Isle; and Diane Hines, manager of the town of Ludlow and Reed Plantation, were added to the association's board. Suzanne Strachan, president of Cheney Insurance in Damariscotta, was elected to the Maine Insurance Agents Association board of directors. Additionally, U.S. News listed the university No. 4 as a "Best Value" for students based on academic quality and cost, No. 5 in "Top Public Colleges" and No. 6 in "Best Regional College Public and Private" in its classification of Regional Colleges in the North. e publication also listed the school No. 2 for "Best College for Veterans" and No. 6 as a "Top Performer in Social Mobility," a ranking that recognizes how well schools graduate students from lower family incomes. Finally, Washington Monthly listed the university No. 9 out of 248 public and private bachelor's colleges in the U.S. The University of Maine at Presque Isle said it was named one of the best colleges in the nation to work for and achieved the distinction as a "2020 Honor Roll Institution," according to the 2020 sur- vey by e Great Colleges to Work For program. e university was included in the small universities category with 500 to 2,999 students. e U.S. Environmental Protection Agency presented Shari Venno of Littleton with a "Lifetime Achievement Award" for a career or life devoted to protecting the New England environ- ment as part of its New England office 2020 Environmental Merit Awards. Other recipients included "Enviro, Community, Academia and Nonprofit," Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission, Saco; and in "Business," Pottle's Transportation LLC, Herman and Agricycle Energy, Scarborough. The Maine Public Utilities Commission in Hallowell said that Maria Jacques, emer- gency services communication bureau director, was recognized by the Maine Division for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Late Deafened during its 29th Annual Award Ceremony and Tea. Northern Light Pharmacy in Brewer said it achieved Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Health Care.
