X X I V O C T O B E R 5 , 2 0 2 0 14 BY PETER BY PETER VAN ALLEN VAN ALLEN BUILDING BUSINESS BRUNSWICK HAS 'BOOM TOWN' FEEL, WITH PROJECTS UNDERWAY Brunswick, including Brunswick Landing and the Cooks Corner area, are see- ing a building boom of late. A number of projects are in various stages of construction. Lajoie Bros. Inc. is finishing a new Cooks Corner branch office for Bar Harbor Bank & Trust (it's a relocation of the Topsham branch). e new building, at 148 Bath Road, will open Oct. 26. e branch will have a lobby, drive-up services, 24-hour ATM and night drop. e developer is Priority Real Estate Group. Others involved in the project were AlphaArchitects, SiteLines Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors, Crooker Construction, Carmel Electric and Bob Miles & Son Inc. e Bar Harbor B&T building is next door to another Priority Real Estate project, a new Dunkin' next door, which is already open. Elsewhere on Bath Road, PC Construction, whose Maine office is in Portland, has completed framing on its 56,000-square-foot Martin's Point Health Care Center site, which will open in fall 2021. PM Construction, which is based in Saco, is handling expansion of the Cooks Corner Shopping Center, where site work is underway for a 50,000-square-foot Hannaford supermarket. Hannaford expects to open in Q3 2021. WILD OATS SET TO OPEN LATER THIS YEAR Wright-Ryan Construction, which is based in Portland, is finishing the 20,000-square-foot site on Admiral Fitch Avenue for Wild Oats Bakery & Cafe, which is set to open this fall. Wild Oats plans to move out of its longtime site at 149 Maine St. in downtown Brunswick. Also on Fitch Avenue, site work is being done for 100 units of housing. OTHER PROJECTS IN THE WORKS Zachau Construction has several projects underway, but two of note here: the Children's Museum of Maine, a $14 million project that will open next spring on ompson's Point, and the Ecology School campus in Saco. Bancroft Construction Corp. of South Paris is handling the construction of a fish passage at the American Tissue Dam.
