FUNDRAISING EVENTS/ OPPORTUNITIES STAND, a fundraising event featuring beer and wine tastings, a silent auction and live music to support Maine's most vulnerable populations: children, seniors, refugees and immigrants, and those bat- tling addiction, mental health issues, and hunger welcomes corporate sponsors to stand with CCM and choose a cause they care about. We also welcome in-kind donations for STAND's silent auction. Catholic Charities Maine's annual Put Children First Golf Classic, is held every September in the Greater Portland area to support child care scholarships for low-income, working families at our two child development centers in Port- land and Biddeford. We seek sponsors at various monetary levels, volunteers for the day of the tournament and we always welcome new teams! For more information, please contact our Development Office at development @ccmaine.org GIVING OPPORTUNITIES Threads of Hope Thrift Stores in Cari- bou, Portland, Sanford, Monticello and Presque Isle welcome clothing, furniture and houseware donations. We will pro- vide a Drop Box to your company site for collection purposes on a temporary or ongoing basis. As a United Way agency, we appre- ciate your consideration at pledge time and the support of businesses that encourage employee participation by matching funds. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Consider volunteering for our Connect Maine: Immigrant Mentoring Program. You will be matched to mentor a recently federally resettled refugee based on common vocational backgrounds, sched- ules and personalities as they acclimate to a new community. Host an office clothing drive for our reads of Hope thrift stores (Portland, Caribou, Sanford, Monticello and Presque Isle). We can provide you with a "Drop Box" on a temporary or permanent basis. Help out in-store sorting items, stock- ing shelves or working the checkout. If you like to volunteer but don't have the time for an on-going commitment, our Special Events or the HOP Team (Hands On Projects) might be right for you! Both are suited for volunteers avail- able for one-time, short-term projects where an extra pair of hands is needed.
