He sees it as being trusted with a role in one of the most important decisions in someone's life: buying a home. And he's good at it. Lynch, a lifelong Auburn resident, has led Webster Five's residential lending team to nearly double loan volume from the time he joined in 2015 through last year. His closed-loan volume rose nearly that much – 87% – from 2016 through 2019. As for finding a right home to live in, Lynch is happy to look forward to raising his children in his hometown for years to come. He's been an Auburn Town Meeting member for the past six years and serves on the town's Planning Board and Zoning Bylaw Review Committee, his way to give back to where he grew up. When he's not toiling in any of those capacities, Lynch has sat on the Nichols College alumni board of advisors and is the professional development committee member for the Real Estate Association of Central Massachusetts, where he works closely with new real estate professionals. - G.W. Favorite Central Mass. restaurant? Peppercorn's Grille & Tavern. Two words: tortellini matthew What pre-pandemic activity did you take for granted? Getting a routine hair-cut What is your dream job? I'd love to be a motivational speaker. There is something about people who can motivate others by connecting to them through sharing their own experiences, and imploring others with the hope those words can profoundly influence another person to achieve their own objectives and goals. Nicholas S. Lynch, 37 Assistant vice president & mortgage sales manager Webster Five Cents Savings Bank, in Auburn Residence: Auburn Birthplace: Worcester College: Nichols College During the last recession in 2009, Sawyer became the general manager of his family's Bull Run Restaurant and embarked on its rebuilding, survival, and upgrade. At 25, he started at his family's business in a time of hardships and uncertainty. Throughout the last 10 years, he has helped his family make renovations and improvements on the menu, entertainment and overall service. This has impressively resulted in the Bull Run's growth from $800,000 in annual revenues to more than $4 million, after surviving the economic uncertainty the 75-year-old restaurant endured. This ability to tackle uncertainty has helped Sawyer adapt during the age of the coronavirus, including dealing with restrictions and the closing and reopening process. Sawyer is a member of the Shirley board of selectmen and previously served as the chair of the finance committee. He joined the Ayer Rotary Club in 2012, where he served as president, treasurer and is on the board of directors, giving him opportunities to participate in local fundraisers and service projects. - R.G. What four people would you like to travel with for a year? Robert F. Kennedy for his commitment to the betterment of others. Jay-Z for his talent and entrepreneurship. Doris Kearns Goodwin for her dedication to history. Tom Hanks, because he seems grounded. What is the first thing you'll do after the pandemic is over? Vacation outside of the U.S. Who is most responsible for your success? My mother. As my mother was an educator, I had the unique benefit of being in the same school system as her. What is your next goal in life? Ownership of my family's business, to ensure its success until the next generation is prepared to manage. Bryan Sawyer, 35 General manager The Bull Run Restaurant, in Shirley Residence: Shirley Birthplace: Boston College: Bryant University 4 0 U N D E R F O R T Y
