She began her work in the field of education and pivoted to health care after obtaining her MBA from UConn. She has held senior leadership roles for 10 years, most recently joining Silver Fern Healthcare as senior vice president to oversee commu- nications, marketing, and product improvement. Winer has experience in nearly every area of business and is pas- sionate about using her skills to bring about positive change. Lamont's Educa- tion Policy Transition Committee. • My master's degree at Oxford was awarded with distinction, and I graduated No. 1 in my class at the UConn School of Business. • I led the reorganization of three sales divisions at CREC, which required analyzing business needs and reconceiving the business mod- el; managing staffing; preparing communications; and developing a multimillion-dollar budget. Chris Wiles is an anesthe- siology resident at UConn, Hartford Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital. To fight the COV- ID-19 pandemic, he released YouTube tutorials and open-source designs for creating n95 style 3D-printed masks. While his typical day is in the operating room, he is growing his organization and the impact it has through collaborating with others all over the world. He makes masks, face frames, face shields, and more with support from colleagues. Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty: • We produced over 2,000 PPE items for hospitals, nursing homes, dentist offices, and more. • We collaborated with the Coast Guard Academy, Yale and UConn to test masks and share informa- tion to improve general home- made PPE production. • Our efforts were in local, national and international news, providing hope during quarantine. • The concept of decentralized mask production was exemplified and publicized by these projects, having a positive impact on future pandemics, as well.
