Family Health Center provides care in 17 locations, with a main site in downtown Worcester and satellite sites in Southbridge, Millbury and Webster. To improve the health and well-being of all residents in the Greater Worcester area, especially culturally diverse populations, by providing access to affordable, high-quality, integrated, comprehensive, and respectful primary health care and social services, regardless of patients' ability to pay. The top three funding sources for Family Health Center of Worcester are the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Family Health Center was selected as a Commonwealth Corps host site for service interns. Family Health Center's volunteer Board of Directors and committees are comprised of 51% patients/clients of the health center, and 49% community volunteers. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES RESPONDING TO THE CRISIS: Family Health Center of Worcester is on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Family Health Center provides assessment, testing, contact tracing, and care management for patients who may be successfully treated outside of the hospital. Family Health Center's Worcester Healthcare for the Homeless staff are working in collaboration with the City of Worcester to care for the unique needs of our patients experiencing homelessness, including providing access to COVID-19 assessment, testing, and treatment. During this time, we continue to provide vital health care, behavioral health services, substance use disorder treatment, and dental services to our patients. Family Health Center is in need of personal protective equipment, including N95 masks and other supplies, and monetary donations to support health center operations. Family Health Center of Worcester offers invaluable, integrated health and social services to thousands of people in the Worcester community. Family Health Center is committed to providing care for underserved populations, including families and individuals experiencing homelessness. During the current COVID-19 pandemic, Family Health Center has shown its resiliency and continues to provide essential health services to our most vulnerable community members.
