Baddam received her medical degree from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences in India and completed her residency at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Ko earned his Dr. JEFFREY BROOKS is the new chair of radiology at Milford Regional Medical Center. He graduated with a degree in medicine from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 2006. Brooks completed a diagnostic radiology residency program and a breast imaging fellowship program at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. THORU PEDERSON, a cell biologist at UMass Medical School in Worcester, has been elected a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences' class of 2020 in recognition of work throughout his career. Pederson, an associate vice chancellor for research and professor of biochemistry and molecular pharmacology, was a longtime scientist at the Worcester Foundation for Biomedical Sciences and served as its president from 1985 until its merger with the UMass in 1997. JIM SOUZA has been named director of facilities for AdCare Hospital in Worcester. Souza, of Leicester, previously was the director of engineering and maintenance at The Reservoir Center For Health and Rehabilitation in Marlborough. He is an electrician by trade and has experience in Occupational Safety & Health Administration, Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Public Health, and Joint Commission safety regulations. Other positions formerly held by Souza include management positions at Leicester Public Schools, Worcester manufacturer Table Talk Pies, and the Stetson School in Barre. Anna Maria College in Paxton has appointed Dr. ABRAHAM HADDAD and SR. KATERI MITCHELL, as new members to its board of trustees. Haddad is a former dentist and prior to taking the position at the college, served as the chairman of the Division of Dental Medicine at UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester and was previously president of the American Association of Hospital Dentists. He graduated from Boston University, where he received his bachelor's degree, and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he earned a doctorate in dental medicine. Mitchell is a member of the Mohawk Nation, Turtle Clan, which is a matriarchal and matrilineal society of the Iroquois Confederacy. She is a sister of St. Anne having served for 59 years in the congregation, and in 1999 was a representative for Native American Catholics at the interreligious Assembly in Rome. RON DUCHARME has been appointed vice president of business development at Covectra, a Westborough software company offering telehealth services, leading the company's marketing, sales and new business development worldwide. Ducharme previously worked for nearly 40 years at FLEXcon in a variety of technical, marketing and product management roles, most recently as market development manager.
