Hartford inks lease deal for $21.5M mixed-use development Hartford's city council has agreed to lease city property to a local developer proposing to build a $21.5-million mixed-use development in a key corner of the Upper Albany neighborhood. The city council has approved a 50- year deal for 7 Summits Realty LLC to lease the vacant city-owned land at the corner of Albany Avenue and Woodland Street, for the development of 50 studio and one-bedroom apartments and office and retail space. 7 Summits CEO Rohan Freeman said the deal gives his group control of the 2-acre property, and leverage to finalize more than $10 million worth of "soft commitments" from several potential public and private funders. 7 Summits still needs zoning approval before it moves closer to breaking ground on the four-story, 80,000-square-foot property it hopes to complete next year. Hartford Regional Market under new management The quasi-public Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has selected a Hartford-based commercial brokerage and property management company to help with oversight of the aging Hartford Regional Market. CRDA's board of directors approved a lone bid from RM Bradley Management Corp., headquartered at One Financial Plaza, to provide management services at the market in the city's South Meadows. The three-year contract comes months after CRDA took over full management of the market from the state Department of Agriculture, and began soliciting bids for a commercial operator to help both manage and promote leasing activity at the property, home to hundreds of employees and more than a dozen businesses receiving and distributing food to supermarkets, restaurants and stores across the region. Survey: CT's teleworkers in no rush to return to worksites Though their productivity has diminished and their home internet speeds aren't quite as good, far more Connecticut telecommuting office expats are apprehensive about returning to their workplaces than are feeling good about going back, according to a new survey. AdvanceCT polled 2,272 workers in the state between April 29 and May 12, of which more than half were working from home. Of those, 25% said they were "somewhat apprehensive" about returning to their workplace and would prefer to continue working from home, while 20% said they were "very apprehensive" and do not want to go to an on-site workplace.
