Our team is working closely with state leaders, health care providers, busi- ness associations, our customers and others to support state residents during these unprecedented times. As businesses and individuals, we must unite and work together. Historically, all involved in health care in our state have too often maintained their respective silos. This tendency helped to create the situation we found ourselves in prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. There have been attempts to bring the parties together in a common mission and that's yielded limited interest and small victories. The pandemic has forced us to put aside our own interests and work together to serve Connecticut residents. This public health crisis will end and then we will be present- ed with an opportunity. An opportunity for payers, providers, state leaders, and others to work collaboratively on a sustain- able solution to health care in Connecticut. We have some of the best and brightest minds in health care and insurance here in Connecticut. This is a time for us to lead the nation in fixing our health care system, including how it's financed. Our business models can evolve, and our residents and economy can thrive. I'm proud to lead the extraordinary team at ConnectiCare. As a leading regional health plan, our members' health and well-being are our top priority. This is especially true in this crisis. We have been working tirelessly to help our members, health care providers, employer group customers, and brokers navigate the pandemic. Our nurse care managers have made thousands of outbound calls to members who may be more vulnerable to the coronavirus due to medical conditions or their age and giving them critical information to help keep them safe. ConnectiCare's service team is making similar calls to members that have previously visited a ConnectiCare center. Our account management teams are working with employer group customers and brokers to answer questions and provide support. We are also supporting each other as we observe social distancing and work from home. Connecticut is our home. We're committed to serving Con- necticut residents and businesses for many years to come, just as we have been since we were founded by a group of doctors in 1981. There will be challenges over the coming months. I'm confident working together we will get through this and come out stronger. I hope you will join me in creating a healthier Connecticut. Sincerely, Eric Galvin President
