Tully joined the Charlton firm in 1989, which was run by his father and then called Miniature Tool & Die Inc. He re- branded it as MTD Micro Molding in 2010 and refocused the company on working exclusively for the medical device industry. e com- pany more than doubled its workforce under Tully and grew into a $8.8-mil- lion company. Tully died unexpectedly at age 58 in February 2019. He had stepped away from day-to-day operations of the company about two years prior, with Gary Hulecki, the firm's executive vice president, taking over those duties. Grid District developer buys Prescott St. building e developer of Worcester's Grid District has bought a Prescott Street building out of an auction in December. MG2 Group of Boston paid $1.1 million for the building, but the buyer's name wasn't immediately disclosed at the auction. e sale closed Feb. 4. MG2 Group has developed a cluster of buildings on the south side of Worcester Common into 535 apartments and four restaurants. e former manufacturing facility at 95-99 Prescott St. will give MG2 Group a smaller but similar op- portunity to remake an old building in a different part of the city. Hologic expands in Costa Rica with new center Marlborough medical device man- ufacturer Hologic, Inc. on Feb. 18 inaugerated its 32-employee financial services center in Costa Rica. e facility will provide support for Hologic's U.S. and Canadian opera- tions. e financial center is in the same manufacturing plant Hologic has been operating since 2008.
