Los Ange- les-based Benedict Canyon Equities, founded by graduate and trustee Bob Hart, on Jan. 8 paid $1 million for the vacant 27 Chandler St., the vacant former Corner Store building at 35 Chandler St., and 47 Irving St., a vacant lot behind the convenience store. Hart bought the 206-unit Sky Mark Tower in October for $29 million. Harrington to join UMass Memorial Health Care Harrington HealthCare System has signed a letter of intent with UMass Me- morial Health Care to join the hospital system, which is Central Massachusetts' largest employer. Leaders at Harrington, which includes a 142-bed Southbridge hospital, and UMass both said they were searching for potential partners at a time when hospitals are looking to create economic efficiencies. Board of trustees for both systems have approved the agreement.
