Some 200 honorees and guests were on hand. Top award honors went to Sonja LaBarbera, who became president and CEO of Gaylord Specialty Healthcare in January. LaBarbera was named the Q Chamber's Woman of the Year for 2019. e keynote address was provided by Quinnipiac University President Judy D. Olian, who came to Mount Carmel in July 2018 and discussed her school's continuing evolution from one-time commuter business school to comprehensive national university. But that's impossible at the New Haven Museum, the Whitney Ave. repository/treasure known since its founding in 1862 as the New Haven Colony Historical Society but more recently renamed to reflect a broader and more inclusive mission. e Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce held its monthly Morning Mingle networking event at the NHM Oct. 23, attended by some 200 early-risers who noshed on period-correct comestibles from Bourassa Catering & Events and attended panel discussions on hiring in the health-care industry and managing Millennial employees.
