His resignation from the DRS position is effective Jan. 16. One of the top three cabinet positions in city government, the CAO oversees departments includ- ing police, fire and public works. Jackson was mayor of Hamden from 2009 to 2015. Borgstrom has been with YNHHS since the beginning of her professional career. She earned a BS in human biology at Stanford and a master's in public health at the Yale School of Medicine, and since 1979, has held a variety of staff and leadership roles before being named president and CEO of YNHHS and YNHH in 2005. Over the subsequent 14 years, both the hospital and health system have grown and fo- cused on integrating cost effective patient-centered health-care services. Today, with more than 25,000 employees and a medical staff of 8,200, Yale New Haven Health is the largest employer in its host city. Borgstrom, who lives in Guilford, also serves on several national and local boards including the American Hospital Association and New Haven Promise, and chairs the Coalition to Protect America's Healthcare and the Healthcare Institute. n A P P O I N T M E N T S der then-Gov. Dannel P. Malloy. Two top executives at New Hav- en-area biotechnology companies have been honored by BioCT. Sean MacKay of IsoPlexis in Branford and Erika Smith of New Haven's ReNetX Bio were recog- nized Dec. 10 as the organization's co-Entrepreneurs of the Year. Former head of the Blavatnik Fund for Innovation at Yale, Smith was cited for raising more than $25 mil- lion in capital for ReNetX and for her leadership in advancing the company's technolo- gy to treat spinal-cord injuries into clinical trials. MacKay, meanwhile, was honored for raising $40 million in growth capital to date for the venture-backed startup, and more than $10 million in grants. e company has devel- oped a diagnostic system that can predict how a patient is likely to respond to certain cancer treat- ments. Gaylord Specialty Healthcare has named Connor F. Dolan chairman of the Walling- ford-based health care system's board of directors. Dolan is a senior wealth advisor with Fair Street Advisors. A grad- uate of Lynn University in Florida, Dolan is also a former president of the board of directors of the SARAH Foundation Daryl Richard has been named vice president for marketing and commu- nications at Quinnipiac University. He will serve on the president's man- agement committee and oversee integrated marketing commu- nications, public affairs, public relations and Quinnipiac Poll.
