Hartford Hospital is constructing a new 49,550-square- foot building on its sprawling South Green neighborhood campus, which will house clinical functions. Yale New Haven Health and St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center announced in April that they were expanding their clinical partnership to include neurosurgery and solid organ transplants, in addition to cancer care. Connecticut Children's Medical Center in 2019 launched a new "Center for Innovation," meant to develop and clinically validate new products and technologies from staff and outside partners. Middlesex Health in Middletown expanded its surgical capacity in 2019 with the addition of two new orthopedic operating rooms. It also raised its hourly minimum wage to $15. UConn Health's leadership, which was exploring a possible merger, took a pass in early 2019 on several public-private partnership proposals it received from potential business partners. Bristol Hospital in June debuted its new $26-million, 60,000-square-foot ambulatory care center at the corner of Main Street and Riverside Avenue. The Hospital for Special Care in October broke ground on a $13-million expansion of a hospitalization program and education and day center that will complement services provided at its autism center.
