22 | BOOK OF LISTS 2020 COMPANY BRIEF IQ Telecom Location: Wethersfield, CT Year founded: 2001 Phone: 860-882-0500 Website: www.iqt360.com Founder & CEO: Ann Flynn Product or Service: IQ360°, a proprietary solution that allows clients to eliminate unnecessary costs by reducing complexities in their telecom services. IQ Telecom reveals $90M in savings to its customers IQ Telecom, a telecommunications management firm based in Wethersfield, has been helping businesses manage their telecom costs for nearly two decades. In 2019 it celebrated a phenomenal milestone, exceeding $90 million in savings for customers — which includes $10 million for one customer alone. "That is what really gets us excited," said Susan King, IQT senior vice president of client services. "We love diving deep into the data and finding hidden savings for our customers. When we uncover and eliminate their unnecessary costs, that feels like a win for us, too." Businesses with multiple locations, particularly those that are growing, consolidating and/or merging, usually have large telecom costs to manage. The billing and contracts are complex — often from multiple providers — and often contain thousands or even tens of thousands of line items that can be difficult, if not impossible, to identify. Hiding in all that complexity can be a great deal of redundancy and waste, which most companies simply don't have the internal capacity or expertise to unravel. That's where IQT can help. IQT utilizes a unique, location-based tool called IQ360° to capture complicated billing and inventory details, bringing it together in an easy-to-understand user interface. This provides management with full visibility into what they have, where it is, and how it's being used. "The businesses we work with have several pain points in common, and they come to us to address them," said John Egazarian, chief operations officer at IQT. "They don't have visibility into their telecom spending, their bills are overly complex, and they don't have the staff or internal tools available to fix those things. We bring tools and expertise to remedy those problems and reduce their costs." Founded in 2001 by Ann Flynn, IQT is a certified woman-owned business with Flynn at the helm as CEO. She has spent her career in the field of telecommunications, and brings a high level of expertise, a deep understanding of the industry, and unwavering commitment to customer service. A champion for women in science and technology, Flynn was honored in 2019 as a finalist in the Connecticut Technology Council's Women of Innovation program. "I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had in this industry, and I encourage other women to step up and use their talents," she said. "We have to support each other, because women sometimes face resistance in the tech fields." In 2020, IQT embarks on a bold, new marketing strategy leading up to its 20th anniversary. At the end of 2019, the company unveiled a revamped logo and new website, focusing on targeted outreach to a broader audience. "Word of mouth has served us well for more than 18 years, and I'm proud of that," said Flynn. "Our customers have always been happy to recommend us. Now, we want to focus on exponential growth, taking steps to get our name out to companies throughout Connecticut and New England that may not have heard about IQT. It's an exciting time for us!"
