Power survey Central Maine Power ranked last in an annual customer satisfaction study, which evaluated 87 elec- tric utilities nationwide based on a survey of 21,000 business custom- ers. J.D. Power scored each utility on a 1,000-point scale, using survey responses about their power qual- ity and reliability, corporate citizen- ship, pricing, billing, communications and customer service. CMP received a score of 639 — the only score in the U.S. below 700. CMP has come under public fire in recent years, in response to weather-related outages, investigations into its billing prac- tices, and plans for a $1 billion, 145- mile electricity transmission corridor through western Maine. e com- pany, a subsidiary of Avangrid Inc. (NYSE: AGR) has 620,000 custom- ers in central and southern Maine. Ready Seafood buys maker of specialty products Ready Seafood, a Saco-based supplier of live and processed lobster, has acquired Hancock Gourmet Lobster Co. of Topsham. Terms of the deal were not announced. Hancock, founded in 2000 by Cal Hancock, develops and produces lobster specialty products such as lobster pot pie and lobster risotto. e dishes are sold online and through gourmet food stores and catalogs. As a subsid- iary of Ready Seafood, the business will continue to operate in its Topsham facility. Putney Inc. was sold to UK-based Dechra Holdings in 2016, for $200 million. Covetrus, which was then known as Vets First Choice, merged with Henry Schein Animal Health early this year, creating a company with annual sales of $4 billion.
