That was the fresh hilltop air at Hindinger Farm, a family farm fixture in Hamden since 1893. In addition to spectacular scenery, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables and a resident coterie of furry friends, Hindinger is an advocate for and participant in Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA), which seeks to sustain and promote local agricultural enterprises in the face of large corporate agriculture and chain retailers. The event also served as a kickoff for Hamden Restaurant Week. Fifteen eateries participated in the ninth annual promotion, offering prix fixe luncheon and dinner fare as well as BOGO deals.
