Sharad Joshi, president and CEO of BioDirection, said the company plans to reach 30 employees as it prepares to launch its first product in 2020 pending regulatory clearance. "Availability of highly trained and experienced medical technology field per- sonnel was a key motivating factor in our decision," said Joshi, in a press release. Chacharone buys vacant building for $850K Worcester developer Chacharone Properties has bought a vacant mill building in south Worcester for $850,000. e 105,000-square-foot building was last occupied by Astro Wire Products. e site sits amid a section of south Worcester between two residential mill buildings, e Los and Loomworks and Royal Worcester Apartments, and the South Worcester Industrial Park, which has seen the construction of new man- ufacturing buildings for Table Talk Pies, including a cold-storage facility developed by Chacharone opened in September. Hanover hires new chief HR officer from NYC Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester on Oct. 22 announced it hired Denise Lowsley as its executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Lowsley joins e Hanover from e Navigators Group, based out of New York City, the global specialty insurance and reinsurance company sold earlier this year, where she was chief human resources officer. Lowsley received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from UMass Amherst. Boston hospital president to join Boston Scientific Marlborough medical company Boston Scientific announced Oct. 16 Michael Jaff will join the firm as the vice president for clinical affairs, innovation and technology, peripheral interventions by January 2020. Jaff is the president of Newton-Welles- ley Hospital, part of the Partners Health- care system in Massachusetts. He has more than 25 years of experience as a vascular clinician.
