What started with a focus on the effects of drugs in the workplace has evolved to respond to the emerging threats that face Connecticut's young people, including vaping, marijuana, chronic absenteeism, alcohol, and bullying. We offer state-of- the-art training, designed to teach young people about the reality of the world around them, and give them the tools they need to achieve positive outcomes. That means building awareness about emerging dangers and promoting effective practices for prevention and early intervention. Because this challenge cannot be met by one single person or organization, we're proud of our public and private partnerships that help us expand our reach, and deliver resources to parents and children across the state. GOALS • Raise public awareness about threats facing young people, including vaping and other harmful substances • Build knowledge and disseminate best practices in prevention and positive youth development as a thought leader and standard bearer • Build capacity for prevention within communities and organizations across the state, acting as a convener and connector • Build public-private partnerships and strategic relationships to leverage resources and affect change. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES Annually, the Governor's Prevention Partnership hosts a recognition event for its partners in the fall.
