A major capital campaign at Good Shepherd Parish to enhance facilities and ensure a viable home for area Catholics has raised $1.2 million towards the campaign's goal of $2 million. The parish is comprised of five worship sites: Most Holy Trinity Church, Saco; St. Joseph Church, Biddeford; St. Margaret Church, Old Orchard Beach; St. Philip Church, Lyman; and St. Brendan Chapel, Biddeford Pool, as well as St. James School in Biddeford. Moosehead housing plan officially shelved A hard-won plan for a massive subdivision in the Moosehead Lake region is being scrapped by timber company Weyerhaeuser, in a move that will likely keep it from com- mercial development in the future. In 2009, after a long battle, 400,000 acres was rezoned for the Moosehead Lake Region Concept Plan, which could have included up to 975 houses and two large resorts on 16,000 of those acres. e plan had been years in the making by timber company Plum Creek, which merged with Weyerhaeuser in 2016. e rezoning was upheld by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court in 2012, but the recession stalled the development.
