University Credit Union
A unique benefit at University
Credit Union is that employees are
paid $100 for cost-saving ideas that
are implemented. The Star Award
Program recognizes an employee each
quarter, nominated by peers, for exceed-
ing member expectations. Recipients
receive an engraved glass
star award and certificate,
a PTO day, $50 in apparel
credit, a $50 gift card and
a luncheon celebration.
The Employee Service
Award program provides employees
with $50 per year of service on their
work anniversary each year. There are
also additional apparel credits and
a certificate when hitting milestone
years. UCU has a year-end apprecia-
tion outings for employees and their
families that include dinner and fun
activities like bowling and laser tag.

Pines Health Services
Pines Health Services has a culture
of family that starts with the leader-
ship's open door policy and fundraisers
held for co-workers. During the winter,
there were times when some of the
team members could not make it home.
Without hesitation, the manager took
everyone to her house,
cooked dinner and washed
their clothes. Random acts
of kindness, like summer
gift certificates for the lo-
cal dairy bar, are much
appreciated. Partnering with Cary
Medical, Pines provides free tickets to
special events in the area, or reduced
cost to events throughout the state
and Boston. Two quarterly wellness
draws are held for $45 gift certificates.
Comprehensive benefits include health,
dental and vision with Pines paying
the plan cost for employees.
