Dell sells former EMC building for $12.2M Texas electronics manufacturer Dell has sold subsidiary EMC Corp.'s former Westborough facility for $12.2 million to Westborough real estate firm Carruth Capital. e property, at 3400 Computer Drive, is currently home to diagnos- tics services LabCorp, which has been leasing the property from EMC, which had owned the property since 2001. Carruth Capital controls a large portion of the corporate office space in the area, including at least two other Computer Drive buildings and an of- fice park across Route 9. It has 25 other office properties, including existing buildings and master planned sites. Micron Solutions lands $5M defense contract Fitchburg contract manufacturer Micron Solutions has scored another sizeable contract, this one for $1 mil- lion annually over five years. e company did not disclose the identity of its customer, saying only it is an inno- vation leader in the defense market de- ploying the devices made in Fitchburg internationally. Micron's engineers have worked closely with the customer to fortify what the company called high precision optical components designed to per- form in very harsh environments. "As a USA manufacturer, there is nothing better than knowing that the hard work of our team at Micron is contributing to the safety and perfor- mance of troops in the field," CEO Bill Laursen said in a comment. e contract follows the company's August announcement of a $3.7-million contract with an unnamed medical de- vice company. e two contracts come aer a string of leadership changes beginning last fall, including Laursen, and CFO Wayne Coll.
