MISSION STATEMENT Camp Sunshine was designed to provide free retreats combining respite, recreation and support, while enabling hope and promoting joy, for children with life-threaten- ing illnesses and their families through the various stages of a child's illness. SERVICE LOCATIONS Since its inception in 1984, Camp Sunshine was designed to support the entire family and has served more than 53,000 family members from 50 states and 27 countries. Focused on the entire family, not just the child with a life-threatening illness, Camp Sunshine has been a pioneer in the illness community, and remains one of the only organizations of its kind in the world. Camp Sunshine 2020 GOALS Camp Sunshine's objective is to provide respite and support to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families free of charge to each attending family. At each session, the need for the program is apparent and confirmed by the connections families create. e program has a solid foundation with exceptional management and staff. Camp Sunshine continues to receive acco- lades, reviews and awards from the nation's top charity and program evalua- tors; Camp Sunshine has received Charity Navigator's highest rating of four stars for sound fiscal management for the eighth consecutive year as well as a Great Nonprofits top rating. With its unique focus on the entire family, and not just the child with the illness, Camp Sunshine has been a pioneer in the illness community since its inception. By bringing these groups of families together, Camp Sunshine con- tinues to build communities which foster joy, hope and support. Your laser-inscribed 4" x 8" brick will have a permanent place at Camp Sunshine's campus. Larger bricks (8" x 8") are also available starting at $1,000 and offer space for longer messages, corporate logos, civic groups, schools, etc. f Donate Auction Items including cars and trucks, boats, recreational vehicles, sports tickets and memorabilia, time shares, vacation rentals, which can be utilized throughout the year at our fundraising events. Any level of support will make a difference. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Camp Sunshine needs the commitment and dedication of nearly 2,500 volun- teers annually in order to facilitate our program. Many volunteers return again and again. ey help with food service, arts and crafts, children's activities, one- on-one assistance, aquatics and more. In 2018, volunteers contributed approximately 70,000 hours, saving several hundred thousands of dollars; enough money to bring several hundred families to Camp! Since 1984, more than 47,000 volunteers have generously contributed more than one million hours of their valuable time. Camp Sunshine volunteers range in age from 16 to 80 and include doctors, nurses, teachers and business executives, retirees, high school and college stu- dents, as well as previous families.
