We strive to create a workplace where employees feel empowered, respected, and listened to — honoring our commitment to a culture where "Everybody Leads" and truly being a "Best Place to Work." Our employees embrace and live out our organization's values — safety, employee engagement, customer intimacy, efficiency, community, pride and culture. S U S TA I N A B I L I T Y In our 170-plus year company history, we've only experienced two eastern white pine harvest cycles. It takes 80 to 100 years before our trees are ready to harvest, making our business a long-term commitment. Our sawmills run with zero-waste of raw materials, with 100% of the log fiber utilized. Sawmill by-products from milling operations are also used in place of fossil fuels. When I was hired out of college, it was clear that Hancock Lumber was looking for someone to understand the business inside and out. So, I started by piling boards. I learned how logs were broken down into lumber, what yield means, what drying and planing lumber means, and customers' expectations. This foundation has added so much value throughout my career as I have grown with the company.
