32 Giving Guide 2019 Worcester Business Journal www.wbjournal.com The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts The Hanover Theatre's strategic plan identifies goals in four key areas: 1. To build a vibrant, inviting theatre district in downtown Worcester, with activity 18 hours a day, 365 days a year to encourage multiple cultural, dining and retail options, realize more parking to accommodate visitors and improve the urban fabric of the theatre. 2. To create a financially sustainable organization by increasing the percentage of operating budget supported through contributed income, diversify and grow earned revenue streams, establish and build an endowment and practice fiscal responsibility in all facets of the organization. 3. To expand our conservatory by constructing additional rehearsal space on the first floor of our Conservatory & Event Center at 551 Main Street, expanding and broadening arts engagement opportunities and filling an important need for arts education in the Central Massachusetts community. 4. To be a destination that includes the broadest possible audience by increasing our peripheral community outreach to engage a more diverse population, utilize technology to engage people and enhance the live experience, create a welcoming and accessible venue for all audiences and leverage partnerships with major promoters to bring in world-class artists. We invite businesses to join us in honoring their hard work and dedication by contributing a prize, gift certificate, merchandise or special coupon for this special celebration, at which every volunteer receives a unique gift. Representation at our event will not only impact the volunteers, but also the 190,000 patrons whom they interact with throughout the year. For more information, contact Savannah Plante at 508.471.1758 or savannah@ thehanovertheatre.org. We are grateful to our hundreds of volunteers that serve in many important positions at the theatre. The theatre welcomes over 190,000 patrons each year and we rely on our corps of volunteers to help deliver the very best in customer service. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, but applicants are only contacted once a year. We conduct interviews in August so that the intensive, required training is complete before the start of each new season. The Hanover Theatre's volunteers are rewarded first and foremost with our gratitude for their time and talent, as well as a host of other benefits. It is our pleasure to invite you to apply to join our team of dedicated volunteer ushers, ticket takers, greeters and gardeners. Would you prefer to volunteer in our administrative offices? Support is always welcome. Contact David MacArthur Jr. at david@thehanovertheatre.org to find a volunteer position that's right for you. There are countless ways for individuals and companies to engage and partner with the theatre, from membership to sponsorships that help underwrite seasonal programming. Our patrons make a difference at every level, from members and subscribers to our Corporate Franklin Square Society and All Access Club. Donating to the Access to the Arts fund supports educational outreach programs and conservatory scholarships. The Theatre District Campaign (TDC) demonstrates our commitment to stewarding positive change beyond our current footprint and bringing Worcester to the next level of growth and revitalization. It addresses our organization's future needs, as well as our strategic long-range goal of a culturally vibrant theatre district and city core. The TDC is in its final phase, having raised $9.5 million of a $10 million goal, and continues to accept contributions to reach our goal by spring 2020. You may also consider joining the 1926 Legacy Society with a planned gift to secure the theatre's future for generations to come. Many of our promotional partners advertise with us and provide in- kind donations as part of an overall cooperative marketing package. Email diane@thehanovertheatre.org to discuss your options for regularly reaching over 190,000 targeted consumers. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
