As vice chairman, Santos will serve alongside individuals from large and small financial institutions, fintechs, software/ solution providers and businesses, creating a group representative of the larger financial services ecosystem. Brad Drazen was hired as vice president, communications and marketing at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, a Hartford-based philanthropic nonprofit. Drazen previously worked as an associate communications director for manufacturer United Technologies Corp. Before corporate communications, Drazen served as an anchor and reporter for NBC Connecticut. Susan H. Dana has been hired as director of development — major gifts program at The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. Dana most recently served as director of major gifts for Hartford Hospital. A resident of West Hartford, Dana is also an active member of the Greater Hartford community with a broad range of experience as a volunteer and board member for local organizations and a coach for West Hartford youth athletic teams. Bradlee Stroia has been promoted to chief technology officer at Stanadyne, a Windsor-based global fuel and air management systems supplier Stroia joined Stanadyne in Aug. 2016, as the advanced engineering leader for diesel products. Before that, he worked as director of advanced fuel system technology for fuel engine company Cummins Inc. Matthew F. Fitzsimmons was hired as a partner at Hartford law firm Shipman & Goodwin LLP's state attorneys general and data privacy and protection practice groups. Fitzsimmons previously worked at Cigna Corp., where he served as U.S. privacy officer and lead cybersecurity counsel. Al Natelli was chosen to serve as president of the Connecticut State Dental Association. Natelli has been a general dentist in Connecticut since 1991, and has been practicing in Southington since 1995. James Kern has joined Glastonbury- based digital payments company Payrailz as vice president, chief sales officer. Kern has served in leadership roles at a number of fintech companies, including Infosys, and OneBridge. In his new position, Kern will develop and execute the overall strategic sales plan, as well as manage the direct and channel sales teams. Angela Perry has been appointed administrator of Vernon Manor, an independently owned and privately managed healthcare community in Vernon. Perry previously served as a licensed nursing home administrator at LaGrange Health & Rehab, a 138-bed skilled nursing facility in LaGrange, Ga. She has experience in many aspects of skilled nursing care including social services director, assistant administrator and executive director/administrator. Doug Nakashima has been named senior vice president of operations at the YMCA of Greater Hartford. Nakashima has served in executive roles in YMCAs across the country, including in the San Francisco Bay area, Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, and Albuquerque, N.M. In his new position, he will oversee programming operations, lead campaign strategy and manage the downtown Hartford YMCA location. Trudy H. Grossman will serve as vice president of research and and Roger Léger will become vice president of chemistry, formulation and development at Farmington biotech firm Azitra Inc. Grossman has extensive research experience in bacterial genetics, microbiology and molecular biology, and has led several drug discovery and preclinical programs, supporting the clinical development of novel drug candidates. Léger is a medicinal chemist with 25 years of biopharmaceutical experience at companies in various growth stages.
