18 Hartford Business Journal • August 19, 2019 • www.HartfordBusiness.com Movers & Shakers Diane Hannes has been named president and general manager of NBC Connecticut/WVIT and Telemundo Connecticut/WRDM, NBCUniversal's local television stations that serve English and Spanish-speaking audiences throughout Connecticut. Hannes previously worked as vice president of creative services at NBC 5/ WMAQ and Telemundo Chicago/WSNS, where she's led the marketing and promotions department for both stations. In her new role, Hannes will oversee all station operations including news, digital, sales, marketing/promotions, community affairs, and operations/technology. Robin Lamott Sparks is now executive director of End Hunger Connecticut!, a Hartford-based nonprofit. Sparks most recently was serving as the executive director for the Coalition for New Britain's Youth. Tim Rasmussen was appointed to the position of chief content officer at Connecticut Public, a broadcast network that includes WNPR. Rasmussen joins Connecticut Public from his position as director of photography, digital and print media at ESPN. At Connecticut Public, he will report directly to President and CEO Mark G. Contreras. Jake Volcsko was hired as vice president of digital operations at Connecticut Public. Volcsko previously worked as general manager of newspaper chain Gatehouse Media's Philadelphia region. At Connecticut Public, he will lead a new digital operations unit, and be responsible for organizing, staffing and leading the new Digital Service Bureau within Connecticut Public. Agnes R. Larson has been named to the board of directors of the Glastonbury Education Foundation, which raises funds for a variety of community-based education programs in Glastonbury. Larson is an attorney at Hartford law firm Reid and Riege P.C. She received her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. The United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut announced two promotions and two new hires. Anyeline Céspedes-López has been promoted to the position of coordinator: community investment/ community engagement and marketing. Diana Desnoyers was promoted to community engagement and marketing manager. Eric B. Horn has joined United Way as a partnership manager. Taylor Ives has been named community engagement and marketing manager. Dr. Mohamad Khaled has joined Hartford HealthCare's Ayer Neuroscience Institute as a neurosurgeon. Khaled previously worked as director of functional neurosurgery at Baystate Health in Massachusetts. At Hartford HealthCare he will see patients both at Hartford Hospital and in offices in Enfield. Allyson Sweeney was named executive director of The Atrium at Rocky Hill, a memory care community. Sweeney last worked as executive director of The Residence at Shelburne Bay in Shelburne, Vt. She holds a bachelor's degree in social work from Siena College and a master's degree in social work from the University of Vermont. Paul Buckle has joined the Hartford Athletic soccer club as technical advisor to chairman and CEO Bruce Mandell. Buckle previously served as head coach and technical director of the Sacramento Republic soccer club for three seasons.
