www.HartfordBusiness.com • August 5, 2019 • Hartford Business Journal 25 40 UNDER FORTY 2019 A s head of economic develop- ment and planning in Trum- bull (2012-16) and in Hartford (2016-18), Jamie Brätt was instrumen- tal in facilitating commercial real es- tate developments and driving grand list growth. Despite complex obstruc- tions, Bratt consistently inspired her teams to get to yes. Recognizing technology as a bur- geoning driver of economic growth in her home state, Bratt made a bold career shift to join global technology firm Infosys, just before their Hartford Innovation Hub opened last December. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? My passion and career have cen- tered around growing healthy cities and towns. Typically, the harvest ma- tures slowly and at the hands of many passionate collaborators. Shepherd- ing dozens of catalytic commercial real estate developments to fruition has been my greatest accomplish- ment, especially the Smilow Cancer Care Hospital Center in Trumbull. How are you involved in the commu- nity? I recently joined the First Company Governor's Horse Guards of Connecti- cut, which serves several missions in the community, and holds the distinct honor of being the oldest continuously mounted cavalry unit in the United States. Previously, I served on four separate regional boards with focus on economic development and innovation. What do you like to do outside of work? I look forward to date nights with my husband, sampling New England's finest ice cream, and spending time outdoors with loved ones, including my two young children. In 2008 I hiked a section of the Rockies and the Smokies as part of Leukemia Lym- phoma Society's Team in Training fundraiser program. Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty: • Shepherded over $100 million worth of commercial construction projects through complex permit- ting processes during seven years as a Connecticut public servant. • 2018 Young Economic Developer of the Year (International Econom- ic Development Council). • Served on the boards of directors of four nonprofits, all working to make Greater Hartford or downtowns throughout Connecticut more vi- brant and economically sustainable. • Put NoMa on the map by leading a successful year-long campaign to rename a Metro station in Wash- ington, D.C. FUN FACT As an undergraduate at Trinity College, I designed my own major in economics and ethics. A dam Clemens is vice president of sales at Century 21 Clemens Group, an award-winning real estate firm serving all of Connecticut. He currently leads his firm's luxury real estate division and oversees tech- nology development. Throughout his career he has listed and sold over $120 million of real estate. Proudly regarded as a thought leader in the industry, Clemens has taken the stage at global events for Century 21, Realtor.com, In- man and Realogy. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? Selling real estate is an incredibly personal responsibility. I take great pride in every sale on behalf of my clients so it's hard to choose one over another. Undoubtedly, one of my coolest professional accomplishments was launching Century 21's global re- branding live on ESPN's SportsCenter to over 89 million viewers. How are you involved in the commu- nity? Ten years ago I co-founded The Linda Clemens Breast Cancer Foun- dation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing support to local families affected by breast cancer. I sit on the New England board of directors of the American Cancer Society and I'm a member of Giveback Homes, building homes for families in need. What do you like to do outside of work? I absolutely love spending time with my amazing wife Kathy and our rescue dog Tucker. We're an athletic family that really enjoys the outdoors, so if you don't find us out and about in Glaston- bury, we're likely hiking, enjoying the beach in Old Lyme or at a local winery. Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty: • Proudly regarded as a national top producing Realtor. • Earned the coveted Centurion Pro- ducer Award, top 1 percent of Cen- tury 21 sales professionals nationally. • Co-founded a nonprofit breast cancer foundation at the age of 27; we're in our tenth year serving our community. • Helped create and develop an Alexa skill for Realogy, launched to a live audience of over 11,000 Realtors. FUN FACT I modeled in college, both runway and print and was even featured internationally.
