44 Hartford Business Journal • August 5, 2019 • www.HartfordBusiness.com 40 UNDER FORTY 2019 W ith diligence and wit Nick Sheridan excels as a finan- cial planner for Lindberg & Ripple, an independent advisory firm. He has over a decade in provid- ing personalized financial planning through a process of understanding what's most important to his clients beyond their wealth. Compassion, patience and trans- parency are just a few of the tenets that guide Sheridan's philosophy. His attention to detail in his personal and professional life has benefited his clients and the community. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? Seeing my clients enjoy their lives to the fullest with the peace of mind knowing that they have the financial security to do so. I enjoy big think- ing and strategizing to provide an individualized plan for clients that enables them to understand and sleep well at night. How are you involved in the commu- nity? As an ally to the gay community and board member of the Hartford Gay & Lesbian Health Collective I'm helping ensure the organization can provide health services, education and advo- cacy. I'm also supporting the growth of Hartford both socially and financially with the Hartford Foundation and the Bushnell Young Professionals. What do you like to do outside of work? I have a passion for working on cars, breaking a sweat at the gym, trying to stay out of the woods while golfing, making people laugh by not taking myself too seriously, tackling do-it-yourself projects, savoring a nice glass of whiskey, and pampering my smart and beautiful wife. Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty: • I'm dedicated to helping to make the Greater Hartford community a thriving place for people to want to work, live and play. • My work with the Hartford Gay & Lesbian Health Collective sup- ports people of diverse sexual orientations and identities. • My work with the Hartford Foun- dation for Public Giving helps connect charitable clients to their nonprofit resources. • My work with the Bushnell Young Professionals provides arts edu- cation programming for school children within Greater Hartford. FUN FACT I cut my own hair. M aggie Johndrow started her career at prominent Wall Street banks — Barclays and JP Morgan — where she worked with high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients. After several years of working on a team managing $450 million, Johnd- row eventually formed a partnership with her mother-in-law, Lori Johnd- row, creating a long-term transi- tion and buyout plan for Lori's firm, Johndrow Wealth Management. Mag- gie officially joined JMW in late 2016 and was promoted to partner in 2019. Since joining JWM, Maggie Johnd- row increased revenue by 10 percent, thanks in part to strategic efforts to penetrate key demographics like women and Millennial investors. She has also been instrumental in revamp- ing the firm's marketing tactics, and has built strong relationships with members of the media, including a recurring segment with NBC CT Live. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? One of my first goals upon joining Johndrow Wealth was rebranding and marketing our firm. In just 2.5 years I was able to spearhead a new website, new logo and significantly increase our digital footprint through PR, social media, webinars and online cli- ent services. This allowed our firm to expand in Connecticut and beyond. How are you involved in the commu- nity? I dedicate my time to my passions: financial literacy and women's educa- tion. I volunteer with the Connecticut Money School and I've revamped the annual "Financial Literacy Day" at my alma mater, Miss Porter's School, where I also serve on the alumni board of directors. I also volunteer with the Junior League of Hartford and Petit Family Foundation. What do you like to do outside of work? I spend my time traveling, trying new restaurants and keeping active. My husband and I travel as much as possible, both domestically and internationally. Most recently, I was in Copenhagen where I thoroughly enjoyed their traditional porridge dish: Grød. Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty: • I received national recognition in the financial services industry by being named Investment News' 40 Under 40 in 2018. • I help promote young women in STEM by serving on the boards of the Petit Family Foundation and Miss Porter's School. • I spearheaded re-branding and mar- keting of Johndrow Wealth Manage- ment, including securing over 40 media appearances in 2.5 years. • I strive to provide the best client experience and service. Fun Fact Despite being born in the United States, my first language is Polish. Magdalena G.
