In addition to run- ning the financial operations of the firm, she also heads up the employee benefits division where she works with businesses on their employee benefit needs. Jakubowski holds a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation and is Connecticut state licensed for life and health insurance. What's the biggest accomplishment your company has achieved helped by your leadership? Our firm was recently recognized with a Best of Hartford award, which was a great honor. I take the most pride in seeing the team succeed to- gether. This industry tends to be made up of a homogenous demographic, so I have also enjoyed hiring and mentor- ing the candidates who do not fit the typical mold and watching them soar. How are you involved in the community? I served as vice president of the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce board of directors for several years until stepping down for personal rea- sons. During my leave I raised money for Boston Children's Hospital while training for the New York Marathon. Right now I am working on a project with a local children's hospital. What do you like to do outside of work? Work hard, play hard! I love to keep busy on the weekends traveling, work- ing outdoors, attending fitness classes and getting together with family and friends. Even though I work with my family we still enjoy spending time together outside of work.
