Ability Beyond's Enchanted Forest gala
raises $550,000 for people with disabilities
More than 450 Ability Beyond supporters attended Ability
Beyond's Enchanted Forest Gala to raise $550,000 for
critical programs and services for 3,000 individuals with
disabilities. The black-tie event was held at the Amber
Room Colonnade in Danbury. All proceeds from the
gala will be used by the nonprofit to continue providing
job training and placement, supported living, and
recreational and educational opportunities to clients.

at annual Hands &
Hearts reception
Twelve organizations and individuals,
including People's United Bank and
Mutual of America, were recognized
by Wheeler at the organization's
ninth annual Hands & Hearts
reception on May 9 at The Country
Club of Farmington. The event
honors individuals and families,
corporations and foundations for
their support of Wheeler's mission
to provide equitable access to care
that improves health, recovery and
growth at all stages of life.
American Asian Business Council
hosts networking, recognition event
The American Asian Business Council recently hosted
its 2019 Asian American Heritage History Month Annual
Networking and Recognition Awards ceremony to honor
and recognize outstanding Asian Pacific American
Businesses. Awardees included Dhilan Shah, MDC, Garg
Engineering, CT Lottery, Charter Oak Environmental,
IndustrialSafety.com, SAI Systems and Fairfax Data
Systems. Awards were presented by Attorney General
William Tong and state Sen. Saud Anwar.
