Saint Dominic Academy received a $1 million endowment from an anonymous donor, the academy's largest gift since the building of the Auburn campus nearly 20 years ago. Endowment funds will be used to assist local families in bridging the financial challenges of providing their children with the opportunity of a Catholic education. Pen Bay Med to expand in Rockport Pen Bay Medical Center broke ground on a 41,500-square-foot, two-story medical office building on its campus, at 6 Glen Cove Drive in Rockport. e new building is intended to help the 63-bed hospital, part of the MaineHealth system, keep pace with the Midcoast region's growing population, which is straining cur- rent facilities. "Just a few years ago we faced a pressing shortage of primary care physicians," Pen Bay President Mark Fourre said in a news release. "We responded by hiring more than 40 additional physicians and advanced practice providers. Our goal now is to support these new providers." e first floor of the building will include pediatrics, audiology and speech pathology, and ear, nose and throat practices, as well as pediatric physical and occupational therapy services.
