I
t was a little bit of a gamble when
the Hamden Regional Chamber
decided to incorporate its 15th
annual Business & Community
Expo within a larger shindig
— Hamden Fest, which on June
1 drew some 10,000 visitors to
Hamden Town Center Park.

Business exhibitors were
unanimously approving of the
switcheroo, and traffic was steady
throughout an overcast but dry
aernoon at the end of a week
marked by downpours of nearly
biblical proportions.

In full flower was Dani Babon of Bon
Appetit, a Whitney Ave. charcuterie that
specializes in cheeses, baked goods
and gift baskets.
Southern exposure: Assistant Alumni Relations Director Doreen Cammarata-
Gilhuly (left) and Associate Vice President for Alumni & Donor Engagement Judite
Vamvakides greeted visitors on behalf of their employer and alma mater, Southern
Connecticut State University (SCSU Classes of 1989 and 1998, respectively).
Said Chamber President Nancy
Dudchik, "We need to gather
together business, the arts, culture
and community."
And for one memorable
aernoon, that's exactly what they
did.
