In his new position, Murdick is responsible for managing the bank's commercial lending team and executing the company's strategic plan in regards to quality asset growth. Chelsea K. Choi was hired at Hartford law firm Murtha Cullina LLP as an associate in the firm's labor and employment practice group. Prior to joining Murtha Cullina, Choi was an associate and law clerk at prominent law firms in Hartford and Springfield, Mass. In her new position, Choi will represent employers in a variety of matters including hiring, evaluation, discipline, layoff and termination of employees. Sara-Beth Donovan has been appointed president of Media Only, a business unit of Avon advertising firm Mintz + Hoke that specializes in strategic media capabilities. Donovan has worked in the advertising industry for more than two decades. She is a past Hartford Business Journal 40 Under Forty and Women in Business honoree. Bristol Health President and CEO Kurt A. Barwis has been elected governor within the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). ACHE is an international professional society of more than 48,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. Sarah Thrall was hired as executive director of Rebuilding Together Hartford, a nonprofit that brings volunteers and communities together to improve the lives of low-income Hartford homeowners. Prior to her new role, Thrall served as the development manager at Junior Achievement of Southwest New England. Danielle Wilken was named provost at Goodwin College in East Hartford. Wilken has more than 20 years of experience in higher education. In her new job, she oversees Goodwin's five academic departments, and is responsible for ensuring compliance with regional and programmatic accreditors. Allan Kleban has been appointed to the board of directors at Hartford's Camp Courant, a free summer day camp. Kleban is KBE Building Corp.'s vice president of business development. Bill Cardarelli is now the University of St. Joseph's inaugural director of internships and sport studies. Cardarelli served as the university's athletic director for 26 years. In his new job, he will join the department of business administration to teach courses and coordinate internships that provide students with the classroom and work experience they need for their future careers. Eric Anderson has joined the Simsbury office of California- based wealth management firm Mercer Advisors as a client/financial advisor. Before joining Mercer, Anderson worked as vice president at State Street Global Advisors. Esther Gonzalez-Torres and Elise Schreier have joined the board of directors at InterCommunity Health Care, a nonprofit healthcare organization providing primary, mental-health and addiction-recovery care in the Hartford area. Gonzalez-Torres received her master's degree in social work from the University of Connecticut and has worked at Youth Challenge for the past 17 years. Schreier works at Travelers Cos. in Hartford, heading a claims department. Her background is in law and risk management, and she is experienced in medical malpractice claims and liability.
