Netter MD School of Medicine, was appointed the national chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges' group on business affairs professional- development committee. D'Ambrosio is responsible for the financial planning and oversight of the medical school's $22 million budget. JCJ Architecture, a Hartford-based design firm, announced promotions of seven employees in the firm's architectural and interior-design practice. Paul M. Hamel is now a project director; Lou Iannucci is now director of information technology; Anne Tansantisuk is now senior project architect; Randy Hull is now a project director; Jeffrey O'Keefe is now a team leader; Lauren Braren is now a studio leader; and Kevin Beals is now a project architect. Jill M. Kovalich was named partner and chief marketing officer at Hartford- based business advisory firm Integrated Growth Advisors. In her new position, Kovalich will oversee the new strategic marketing advisory services for U.S.-based clients. Katie Totten has been named office leader for the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England, New York and Westchester Properties' West Hartford office. Totten currently serves as office leader at the firm's Woodstock office. She holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and also completed the Maestro Leadership Program, a six-month program designed for sales managers. Deborah R. Hoyt, a Durham resident who has been CEO of the Connecticut Association for Healthcare at Home (CAHH), has joined the leadership team at Dallas-based home healthcare technology company Axxess as senior vice president of public policy. In this role, she will spearhead the company's involvement in all public-policy discussions to help grow the industry. Hoyt has held the top post at CAHH since 2010, providing strategic direction and daily management to advocate for the interests of more than 100 Connecticut-based home health and hospice agencies and affiliate organizations. Connecticut Commissioner of Education Dianna Wentzell will become interim director of clinical education at the University of St. Joseph this summer. At the Connecticut Department of Education, Wentzell focused reducing the achievement gap, increasing the racial and ethnic diversity of the educator workforce, and implementing more rigorous standards and assessments. Jillian Tara has joined Phase Zero Design, an architecture, interior- design and planning-services firm headquartered in Simsbury, as a senior interior designer. Tara previously worked for Silver | Petrucelli + Associates in Hamden, where she served as an interior designer. At Phase Zero, she will work with the firm's Simsbury and Hingham offices within the corporate, higher- education and hospitality sectors. Ben Fuchs, a West Hartford resident and financial advisor, announced the opening of Fuchs Financial LLC, a retirement and investment services firm focused on wealth management, planning and retirement. Fuchs is a certified financial planner with more than 15 years of investment experience. He began working in real estate investments in 2003. Darin Lemire was hired as senior project manager and Trevor Cazlan is now project geologist at HRP Associates Inc., an environmental engineering and hydrogeology firm headquartered in Farmington. Lemire is a graduate of the University of Hartford where he received a master's degree in environmental engineering. Cazlan earned an associate degree in geology from Central Connecticut State University, and holds a Connecticut Asbestos Consultant — Project Monitor license. Hoyt UConn's fundraising arm has named a philanthropic executive from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), its new CEO and president. The UConn Foundation said Scott M. Roberts will take office May 28, succeeding Joshua R. Newton, who left in Aug. 2018 to take a job at Atlanta's Emory University. Roberts' current post is vice president of philanthropy and alumni engagement and president of the UNLV Foundation. He is taking over a foundation based in Storrs that notched record donations of nearly $400 million in 2018. While serving as UNLV's chief advancement officer and a member of the president's leadership team, Roberts had oversight of $280 million in funding at the UNLV Foundation. During his nine-year tenure at UNLV, the school's foundation raised more than $500 million. Schaller Subaru donated $37,013 to New Britain family-support nonprofit Klingberg Family Centers as part of its 2018 Share the Love Campaign. The funds will support Klingberg's programs, which served over 3,000 children and families last year. Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut recently partnered with Eversource to make 17 of its retail, distribution and sorting facilities across the state more energy efficient. As a result, Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut will save more than $148,000 in annual energy costs.
