University of Maine System announced that Tex Boggs was promoted to interim president and provost for the University of Maine at Fort Kent while the campus conducts a national search for a new leader. Boggs has 25 years of presidential experience and has been serving as interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at the university since August. [ A P P O I N T M E N T S ] The Susan L. Curtis Foundation in Portland elected Matthew Cyr as chair of its board of trustees. Cyr is a LEED AP project manager at Zachau Construction in Freeport. The Dance Hall in Kittery added Kent Allyn to its board of directors. Allyn is a full-time musician. Friends of Casco Bay, a conserva- tion organiza- tion in South Portland, elected David Kaufman to its board of directors. Kaufman spent 35 years in broadcasting, ending as CEO of the WMTW Broadcast Group. [ A C H I E V E M E N T S ] US Harbors named Rockland a runner up in its "Best Harbor in the U.S.," a crowd-sourced campaign that began in January that asked readers to share their local information and tips to let us know what makes their harbor the best. Padanaram in South Dartmouth, Mass., was the winner. Midcoast Federal Credit Union in Freeport said it was honored with "Diamond Awards" in two categories by the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network comprised of over 1,300 credit union marketing and business development professionals. e credit union won best-of awards in two categories, for logo design and mul- tifaceted campaign, for its PERKS 321 logo and program materials. Both entries represented its credit card 321 Local Rewards program. PC Construction in Portland received a "Build Maine Award" from the Associated General Contractors of Maine in the building category for its work on a major renovation and expan- sion project at three school buildings within Regional School Unit 21 in the Kennebunk area. Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor was included in Forbes magazine's 2019 list of "Best Midsize Employers." Crossroads, an addiction and behavioral health treatment center in Scarborough, said it earned a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, the highest accreditation possible. S&B Financial Services, located at Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution, announced that Lisa Dube earned the Series 6 and Series 63 registrations from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Dube is a registered financial services assistant with the firm. Emily MacCabe, media and graphics supervisor at the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, was hon- ored by the Northeast Conservation Information and Education Association as its "Information and Educational Professional of the Year." The University of Maine at Augusta archi- tecture program received initial accredi- tation from the National Architectural Accrediting Board. e university is the only public higher education institution in the Northeast with a professionally accredited five-year bachelor of archi- tecture degree program.
