Penner is a seasoned leader in biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Linda Hernando was hired as office manager/executive assistant at Athene Wealth Management LLC, a Glastonbury financial and investment services firm. Hernando has six years of client service and operations experience. Naugatuck-based Ion Bank, which is entering the Greater Hartford market with a new branch opening in Farmington, announced a new hire and promotion. Elizabeth Sheridan has been hired as vice president, business relationship officer for the Farmington region. She previously worked for Webster Bank in Farmington as vice president, branch manager. Cherilyn Spatola is now vice president, branch manager of the Farmington branch at Ion Bank. Spatola last served as vice president, bank manager at Ion Bank's Newington branch. Angelo Piccolo has been hired at Ion Investments, a wealth management group within Naugatuck-based Ion Bank, as assistant vice president. At Ion, Piccolo will be focused on deepening client relationships, providing customized investment solutions and helping clients prepare for retirement. Kasia Purciello has been named assistant town manager of Enfield. Purciello has served as a budget specialist at Connecticut's Office of Policy and Management. She has experience as an analyst for the non-Medicaid portion of the Department of Social Services, the Office of the Healthcare Advocate and the Office of Health Strategy. Steve Lemanski has been named a principal at Hooker & Holcombe, a West Hartford-based actuarial, investment advisory and retirement plan consulting firm, while Stephen Chykirda and Norm Yamamoto have joined the firm as consulting actuaries. Lemanski joined the firm in 2016. Prior to Hooker & Holcombe, he worked for Milliman where he served as principal and consulting actuary for a number of municipalities throughout the Northeast. Chykirda joined the firm in 2018. He most recently worked for MassMutual where he served as a consulting actuary for municipalities and Fortune 500 companies. Yamamoto joined the firm in 2018. Previously he worked for Buck Consultants where he served as principal and consulting actuary. Dr. Niamey Wilson has been appointed director of breast surgery quality and research and breast surgery division leader at the Hartford HealthCare Medical Group. Wilson completed a general surgery residency and breast surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and earned a master's degree in health policy. In her new position, she will help the group advance work already being done to make the latest clinical trials available to patients. Silas Warner has joined the Connecticut operation of OneDigital Health and Benefits, an employee benefits and human resources firm, as senior consultant and business development executive. Warner previously worked as director, client advocate at the Hartford office of Willis Towers Watson, a risk management, insurance brokerage and advisory company. In his new job, he will help employers design short- and long-term strategies to mitigate healthcare costs. Nyaunu Stevens has been appointed associate director of programs at the Windsor-based National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ). Stevens, an Ashford resident, served as a lead teaching artist with Cleveland Public Theater, where she worked to bring theater education to disadvantaged youth. In her new role, Stevens will be responsible for the overall direction, production and oversight of all aspects of NCCJ's youth and adult social-justice education programs.
