Morkan has been appointed to the University of Connecticut Law School Alumni Association's board of directors. Morkan is a member of Robinson+Cole's business litigation group and chairs the firm's appellate practice group. Morkan graduated with honors from UConn Law School, and later served as an adjunct professor at UConn Law School for over a decade. Ruili He and Katherine Tattersall have joined Fuss & O'Neill Inc., a Manchester civil and environmental engineering consulting firm, as structural engineers. He specializes in bridge design and analysis, and will support the firm's expanding vehicular, pedestrian and railroad bridge project presence in New England. Tattersall graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute last May, and has interests in historic preservation and adaptive reuse. Jonathan Morisset has been promoted to second in command at Enfield Emergency Medical Services. Morisset attended Central Connecticut State University, and completed the Paramedic Program at Capital Community College in 2009. He started his Emergency Medical Services career in 2004 with Ellington Ambulance. Meghan E. Smith, an attorney at Vernon law firm Vernon, Kerenski & Capossela, has been elected to serve on South Windsor Chamber of Commerce's board of directors. Smith practices business and commercial real estate law. She has held leadership positions at civic organizations including the Windsor and Greater Hartford Jaycees and the Greater Hartford Women's Conference planning committee. Luis Ramos has been elected to a three-year term on the board of the National Association of Credit Union Chairmen (NACUC). Ramos is currently board chair of Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union based in Rocky Hill. Ramos joins four other NACUC board members who are currently serving, or have served, as chairman of their credit union's board of directors. Sonia Cardenas has been promoted to vice president for strategic initiatives and innovation at Trinity College in Hartford. Cardenas will continue to serve as dean of academic affairs and professor of political science, in addition to her new responsibilities. Mark J. Duclos was selected as board of directors president-elect of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), a Washington-based commercial real estate association. Duclos is president of Sentry Commercial, a Hartford-based commercial real estate brokerage, consulting and management firm. He will assume his SIOR role next fall. Christine Koster has joined Community Investment Corp. (CIC), a Hamden-based firm that provides loans and support to small businesses, as vice president, loan officer. In her new position, Koster will focus on supporting CIC's Small Business Administration loan programs. Koster most recently worked as a vice president, small business banker for Bank of America. John Malfettone has been named chairman of the UConn Foundation's board of directors. Malfettone is currently senior managing director and chief compliance officer at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, a private equity company in New York. He has served on the board for eight years. Linda L. Smith Ruili He Community New Country Motor Cars supports CRIS Radio golf classic New Country Motor Cars of Hartford, title sponsor of the 21st Annual CRIS Radio Golf Classic, was recently joined by several area businesses to help raise a record $30,000 for the nonprofit radio-reading service. The golf tournament, held at Tunxis Golf Plantation in Farmington, attracted more than 90 golfers. Middlesex Hospital's annual golf tournament raises money for hospice Middlesex Hospital held its 32nd annual Hospice Golf Tournament at Portland Golf Course, raising $48,000. Throughout the tournament's history, more than $800,000 has been raised to support patients who face life- limiting illnesses and their families. The hospice program focuses on emotional and spiritual comfort. Pratt & Whitney employees go fishing to support United Way Pratt & Whitney recently participated in a fishing tournament at a local pond in East Hartford to raise money for the United Way Community Campaign.
