Businesses join rally for bully-free
communities in Middletown
Students, educators, business owners and community
leaders came out to rally for bully-free communities at
the EMPOWER Leadership Sports Center in Middletown
in recognition of National Bullying Prevention Awareness
month. Organized by the Community Foundation of
Middlesex County and its Council of Business Partners,
the fifth annual Rally for Bully-Free Communities included
team-building activities, guest speakers, pledge-taking and
presentation of the Bully-Free Community Spotlight Award.
Bank of America, Habitat for Humanity partner on global build
Forty Bank of America employee volunteers teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Hartford to build
playhouses in South Windsor as part of the fifth annual Global Build. The playhouses will be auctioned
off, with all proceeds going towards a Habitat for Humanity of Hartford home build. The bank also
provided more than $60,000 in funding to six Habitat for Humanity affiliates across Connecticut.

of St. Joseph.

author of "Grit,

Perseverance,"
the conference
included an
interactive
discussion by
women leaders about building and sharing traits that are statistically proven to help individuals
