Parsons has been with the bank for 18 years and most recently worked in Global Commercial Banking, iBec Creative, a digital agency in Portland specializing in data-driven website and e-commerce design, development and marketing, pro- moted Emily Drappi to director of strat- egy. Drappi was previously a senior digital marketing strategist. Stillwater Environmental Engineering Inc. in Orono promoted Jeff Spaulding to proj- ect manager. Spaulding was an assistant project manager with the firm. Whole Oceans promoted Jason Mitchell to presi- dent of the aqua- culture company, which plans to raise Atlantic salmon on the site of the former Verso paper mill in Bucksport. Mitchell was previously COO. Geiger, a promo- tional products distributor in Lewiston, promoted Kasey Plourde to inventory specialist. Plourde was previ- ously a customer advocate in corporate programs. The Junior League of Portland announced Shikha Vasaiwala as president of its board of direc- tors for 2018-19. Norway Savings Bank announced that President and CEO Patricia Weigel was elected to the board of directors of the American Bankers Association. e National Association of State and Local Equity Funds elected Bill Shanahan as president. Shanahan is president of Northern New England Housing Investment Fund in Portland. Steve Smith, presi- dent and CEO of L.L.Bean in Freeport, was named chair of the Southern Maine Heart Walk, the largest fundrais- ing event for the American Heart Association in Maine. Sarah Ruef-Lindquist, a financial plan- ner at Allen Insurance and Financial in Camden, spoke on Women and Philanthropy at Maine Planned Giving Council's conference held in South Portland. Casco Bay Molding in Sanford received the Maine Manufacturing Extension Partnership's "2018 Manufacturing Excellence Award" for its efforts toward achieving world-class manu- facturing status and implementing Next Generation Manufacturing Strategies required to advance in the global marketplace. David Libby, president and CEO of Town & Country Federal Credit Union in Scarborough, and Fred Lizotte, business intelligence manager at Infinity Federal Credit Union in Westbrook, were both recognized in Credit Union National Association's Credit Union Magazine as "2018 Credit Union Rock Stars." Saunders Electronics Inc. in South Portland was named the "2018 Manufacturer of the Year" by the Manufacturers Association of Maine. e board of directors of the Retail Association of Maine named Union Farm Equipment in Union as its "2018 Retailer of the Year." e MaineHealth Center for Tobacco Independence's Breathe Easy initiative announced its "Tobacco-Free Hospital Gold Star Standards of Excellence Award" winners. e "2018 Gold Star Standards of Excellence" awardees at the platinum level were LincolnHealth, Maine Medical Center, MaineGeneral Medical Center, Mid Coast Hospital, Mount Desert Island Hospital, New England Rehabilitation Hospital and Southern Maine Health Care. Gold-level recipi- ents included Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, Bridgton Hospital, Calais Regional Hospital, Central Maine Medical Center, Charles A. The Maine Department of Corrections Mountain View Correctional Facility in Charleston completed its American Correctional Association accreditation audit achieving a score of 99.6% of all standards. e audit occurs every three years and assesses the facility compli- ance with 529 correctional standards. Geiger, a promotional products dis- tributor in Lewiston, said several of its associates earned Promotional Products Association International Certification, which demonstrates a commitment to business excellence and continual professional growth. Kevin Boilard, Rachel Varela, Brittany Wiseman, Karen Deister and Nikki Hamlin earned Certified Advertising Specialist status while Scott Cummings, Noel Kaiser, Sarah Couturier, Tracey Despres, Dawn Ruler and Christa Matuszewski earned certification as Master Advertising Specialist. Other collection properties that were recognized in the New England resort list included Cape Arundel Inn & Resort, ranked No. 10, and the Tides Beach Club, No. 14. On the hotel list, the Boathouse Waterfront Hotel was listed as No. 10 in New England. Stephen Picard and David Taylor of Portland Water District received diplo- mas for completing the Management Candidate School. Picard is a waste- water operations foreman while Taylor is a utility specialist. The Maine Grocers & Food Producers Association announced its 2018 award recipients.
