in the frequent hiring of Timberlane's
students right out of high school.
Timing is everything.
"Graduating seniors are in the best position
they've been in in a long time.
Manufacturers are desperate for new
employees. The jobs are there. Maybe they
don't think manufacturing is sexy, but it
pays well, the hours are great and it makes
for a wonderful career," Glikes-Foley says.
"Obviously, they modernized some of the
things … just to keep consistency," Mercier
said.
"We assist
employers in
getting grants for onsite
training. For example,
Boston Centerless received
a two-year grant to work
on employee training with
the GBMT from the state of
Massachusetts' workforce
training funds."
