B I Z 9 O C T O B E R 1 5 , 2 0 1 8 ND Paper to add jobs at Rumford mill ND Paper LLC, which in June completed its $175 million acquisi- tion of Catalyst Paper Corp.'s mills in Rumford and Biron, Wisc., said it plans to invest $300 million in the two pulp and paper mills over the next two years. e Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.- based company, which is the newly formed U.S.-based subsidiary of Nine Dragon Paper Ltd. in China, said will invest $111 million at the Rumford mill and $189 million at the mill in Wisconsin. Combined, the com- pany stated, the projects will create 77 additional jobs between the two states, with Rumford's 650-employee mill expected to gain 50 of those jobs and Biron's 350-employee mill to pick up 27. ND Paper stated that the $300 million investment stems from a stra- tegic review of its options "to further enhance the long-term sustainability of these facilities." N O T E W O R T H Y C E N T R A L & W E S T E R N Community Concepts Finance Corp. said it provided Financial Assistance for Rumford Enterprises loan financing to the Greater Rumford Community Center to assist with funding repairs and maintenance on the facility located at 50 Congress St. The financial as- sistance program was initiated through collaboration of Community Concepts and the town of Rumford to provide low interest loans to assist the offset of lost revenue and unexpected expenses for qualifying businesses during the downtown municipal project. The University of Maine System in Augusta signed an Online Education Services Agreement with Academic Partnerships that will immediately ad- vance six online nursing programs over the next two years.
