Serving over 4,400 members with a staff of 18, SRCU knows most members by name and is involved with local schools, the backpack program, and the sum- mer Sabattus Fun Festival. Employees also raise funds for Special Olympics and Ending Hunger in Maine; coming in fourth place for most money raised per member competing with other credit unions in Maine – and recently placing first nationally for the Dora Maxwell award, a huge honor recognizing com- munity involvement. SRCU thanks employees with programs like Employee Appreciation Week, surprise ice cream and donut runs, and occasional lunches with pizza delivery.
