Throughout her 24-year television career, Gordon aired hundreds of stories and received 10 sports Emmys and two Edward R. Murrow journalism awards. As founder of the Canton-based communications strategy firm Commander-in-She, Gordon employs the principles of storytelling to meet business and client needs. In its 36th year, the Business Women's Forum is a personal and professional development leadership conference for women. The 2018 event will also feature businesswoman and reality TV star Bethenny Frankel (Real Housewives of New York City) as its keynote and award-winning motivational speaker Linda Larsen, plus a half-dozen empowering workshops throughout the day. Gordon will show attendees how to seize control of any negotiation and author their "ask." Participants will learn skills to present their best selves, manage conflict, navigate unexpected events with confidence, and fact- check one's internal mental narrator. Gordon will provide insights to listening and laughing at negotiations gone awry, and how to apply the formula "Get to Yes" by not being afraid to "Go for No." A program of the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Business Women's Forum is an organization led by female executives dedicated to the professional and personal growth of working women. The non-profit BWF's mission is to raise scholarship funds for female Post University students pursuing degrees in business,. Over the past 35 years more $190,000 in scholarship money has been raised and awarded. The 2018 Business Women's Forum is being sponsored by the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Onyx II Fine Jewelers and Wells Fargo. The event typically attracts some 500 attendees.
