Shi most recently worked at Mercedes-Benz Manhattan as head of procurement. In his new position, he will lead the development and implementation of Day Pitney's strategic diversity and inclusion plan. Martin Morrissey has been hired as chief financial officer at The Village for Families & Children, a nonprofit that provides social services for children, adults and families in the Greater Hartford region. In addition, Tammy Freeberg has rejoined the agency as associate vice president of strategy and planning. Morrissey previously served as executive vice president at Continuum of Care and Affiliates in New Haven. Freeberg has broad leadership experience with a range of social services, including affordable housing, health and safety and community development. Raquib Choudhury was promoted to vice president of information technology at Vantis Life Insurance Co., a Windsor- based life insurance firm. Choudhury is now charged with overseeing all of Vantis Life's information-technology practices, including overseeing the firm's new accelerated underwriting and direct-to- customer services. He previously served as Vantis' assistant vice president and chief information security officer. Fuss & O'Neill Inc., a Manchester civil and environmental engineering consulting firm, added several new owners, bringing the number of employee shareholders to 26. New owners include Robert May, Jr., Kathy Nanowski and Maggie Snape. May has served as president of Fuss & O'Neill EnviroScience LLC for five years. In addition to his role as owner, he will now serve as leader of Fuss & O'Neill's Environmental Business Line. Nanowski is Fuss & O'Neill's director of marketing and business development. In her seven years at the firm, Nanowski has played a lead role in transforming its marketing and sales practices. Snape has served as director of human resources for Fuss & O'Neill for the past six years, where she has been responsible for all aspects of human resource management. Ronald F. DeSoiza was promoted to the role of chief business development officer at PKF O'Connor Davies LLP, a New York-based certified public accounting firm with offices in Stamford and Wethersfield. DeSoiza, who works out of the firm's Stamford office, will be involved in executing PKF O'Connor Davies' strategic growth initiatives through new business development. Maria Khan has joined Friar Architecture Inc., a Farmington architectural firm, as a designer. Khan recently graduated from the University of Hartford, earning a master's degree in architecture. She previously earned bachelors' degrees in architectural engineering technology and psychology and linguistics. MahoneySabol, a regional certified public accounting firm with locations in Glastonbury, Middletown and Essex, announced the hiring of three full-time employees. Evan DePersia of Hebron was hired as a staff accountant in the firm's audit department. DePersia recently graduated from Clemson University. Genevieve Stimpson of Simsbury will also work in the audit department as a staff accountant. Stimpson recently graduated from the University of Connecticut. Emily Ballard of Wethersfield was hired as a staff accountant in MahoneySabol's tax department. She is a recent graduate of Central Connecticut State University. Susan L. Lane has been promoted to senior leader of strategic partnerships at Hoffman Auto Group, a car dealership with locations in East Hartford, New London, Watertown and West Simsbury. In her new position, Lane will serve as a brand ambassador for Hoffman Auto Group, and a liaison for philanthropic and community partners. She has worked at Hoffman Auto Group for three years.
