SERVICE LOCATION(S) State of Maine Make-A-Wish ® Maine 2019 GOALS We strive to continue granting the greatest wish of every qualifying Maine child who is referred to our organization. Each year, we grant an average of 70 wishes (that's over 1,450 wishes since our inception) to Maine children fight- ing critical illnesses. However, statistics and conversations with major treatment centers in Maine indicate that there are additional children annually receiving a new diagnosis that would qualify them for a wish. We aspire to secure sufficient community support to be ready to serve every eligible child referred in 2019. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES Walk For Wishes®: 2019 marks the 20th Walk for Wishes statewide. Walks are held at multiple locations across the state. Teams are formed on an easy-to- use website that offers individual or team fundraising pages. Sponsorships are available and include promotion on the walk. Auction: is event attracts about 250 supporters who walk away with vacation packages, art and sports tickets. e 2020 Auction is scheduled in Rockland and sponsorship opportunities are available. Wish Night: is event raises funds to grant 26 wishes and is held at the Masonic Temple in Portland. e evening features entertainment, silent auction and celebration of our mission. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Season of Wishes®: Each December the chapter counts on the spirit of giv- ing to raise enough money to grant 20 wishes, totaling $140,000, during the holiday season. Partners are invited to help grant one of the 20 wishes and, in turn, the partner is mentioned on the radio as well as on our website, Facebook page and press releases. We kick this off with a wish child lighting the down- town Portland Christmas tree. Many other events hosted by volunteers and supporters occur throughout the year all over the state. ese events are listed on and promoted via our website and Facebook page.
