Maine's economy is increasingly reliant upon entrepreneurship.
Innovation and technology hold promise for new enterprises as
well as our traditional sectors like farming, fishing and forestry.
However, turning innovative concepts into marketable products
and services can be challenging. Entrepreneurs need access to
patient capital, technical support, and strong networks to start
and grow their businesses.
The Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF) is committed
to the vision that entrepreneurship and innovation are broadly
promoted and practiced in Maine. To that end, we have embarked
on several initiatives, including the Community Broadband Grant
Program to support communities as they seek to expand high
speed internet access.
MaineCF relies on donors and other partners to fulfill its mission
of improving the quality of life for all Maine people. One of
those partners is Machias Savings Bank, which shares our vision
that providing financial and technical support will encourage
entrepreneurs to stay in Maine and others to move here.
With help from Machias Savings Bank and other donors, MaineCF
has launched the Downeast Innovation Fund to support nonprofit
organizations that provide programs to improve or increase
entrepreneurship and innovation in the local economies of
Hancock and Washington counties.
Together, we can move Maine forward.
Machias Savings Bank is proud to
partner with the Maine Community
Foundation.
Entrepreneurship.
Innovation.
Collaboration.
