SERVICE LOCATION(S) State of Maine Maine Community Foundation 2019 GOALS e Maine Community Foundation believes that every person in every commu- nity should have the same opportunity to acquire the education, knowledge and experience needed to succeed and move Maine forward. To that end, over the next 5-10 years MaineCF, working with its partners, will intensify its commitment to prioritizing fi ve strategic goals: f Strong Start: All Maine children receive a healthy start and arrive at kin- dergarten developmentally prepared to succeed in school and life. f Access to Education: All Maine people, including adult learners and other nontraditional students, are able to complete a degree or certifi cate program to maximize their potential. f Racial Equity: All people of color in Maine have access to opportunities and life outcomes that are not limited in any way by race or ethnicity. f Thriving Older People: All older people in Maine are valued and able to thrive and age in their workplaces and communities with health, indepen- dence and dignity. f Entrepreneurs and Innovators: Entrepreneurial innovation is broadly pro- moted and practiced in Maine, particularly in natural resource-based activities. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES Maine people learn about the Maine Community Foundation as a charitable resource from their estate attorney, accountant, fi nancial planner or by word-of- mouth from another donor or community member. Donors can establish their own charitable fund, contribute to an existing fund or include the community foundation in their estate plans. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES When you give through the Maine Community Foundation, you join thou- sands of charitably minded individuals who are committed to strengthen Maine. Many donors, businesses and nonprofi t organizations establish charita- ble funds at the community foundation to help manage their philanthropy. We have a Business Partner program to showcase the business leaders who choose to give with, and through, the foundation. Donors also contribute to funds such as the Invest in Maine Fund (which provides grant support throughout Maine), county and regional funds (which provide grant dollars for local initia- tives) and/or funds in our fi ve strategic priority areas. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES e Maine Community Foundation depends on volunteers to help review grant and scholarship applications—currently more than 500 people across Maine. We generally rely on recommendations from current volunteers, but always welcome hearing from individuals interested in helping us in our work. TOP FUNDING SOURCES Steve Rowe President and CEO Peter Lamb Board Chair The Maine Community Foundation receives charitable donations from individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations.
